I started by building places on the internet. Forums, games, websites. Then I started putting people in front of a camera.
With Fooq Al Sada, that became comedy. Then came television, film, music and live shows. Different formats, the same pull: bring people together and make something worth their time.
A computer-science degree. A very different plot.
I’m Naser Jarun, a Jordanian director, producer, comedian and writer based in Amman. Born in Irbid in 1986, with Palestinian and Serbian roots. A twin. A computer-science graduate who kept following the story beyond the screen. I’m also Ma3azef’s video producer.

The songs stayed.

A Ma3azef dossier revisiting the sounds, images and memories of pop across the Levant. From music television and talent shows to Bluetooth sharing, it looks at how a generation found its soundtrack—and how that soundtrack was made.
The accompanying Lebanon interview series brings four music-makers into the conversation, exploring the boom of the 2000s and the challenges that followed.
